Finalists will be available during these times to answer questions about their entry: Tuesday, September 10 | 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM Category: Combined Strength Cevotec with partners Roth Composite Machinery and CIKONI present an optimized design for a type IV 300 bar hydrogen pressure vessel for transport vehicles. The application of local dome reinforcements based on Fiber Patch Placement technology together with optimized filament winding resulted in 15% carbon fiber mass reduction at equivalent mechanical performance. The project vessel comprises a thermoplastic liner with Toray T700 overwrapping and a 120°C curing, industry-grade epoxy resin. for the first time, dome reinforcements are applied to a pressure vessel in an industrial process suitable for high-volume production, representing a significant sustainability potential for H2 composite tank solutions.
